Leah Roesler – Principal Cascadian
is a true Wisconsin girl, having grown up near Milwaukee and obtaining a B.S. in International Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She particularly enjoyed the Landscape Architecture and design related courses she studied while there. Upon graduating in 2008 Leah relocated to Jacksonville, where she continues to put down roots. She is enjoying her second year as Beautification Chair on the board of the San Marco Merchants Association, and joined the planning committee of the final RiverHops event, benefiting North Florida School of Special Education, in the spring of 2017. She has been serving on the planning committee for the FNGLA Northeast Chapter’s Jacksonville Landscape Show since 2013, and in 2017 transitioned to the role of co-chair.
Nothing is more important to Leah than making people happy. It is her goal to ensure each design Cascade Outdoor Design produces is one which the homeowners absolutely love. Leah will be there every step of the way to take your design from the beginning conceptual stage to a fabulous new space for you to enjoy.
Mike Farnsworth – Principal Cascadian
has been designing and building outdoor living spaces in Jacksonville for nearly two decades. He has worked on projects from St. Marys, GA to Ortega, to St. Augustine, and everywhere in between. Mike particularly enjoys working on unique water features, including inside people’s homes, and strives to make each design not only beautiful and full of character, but also functional and maintenance free. His hands-on experience with everything from welding fabrication, to stone masonry and carpentry allow him the opportunity to push the boundaries of design to create truly one-of-a-kind spaces.
Mike prides himself on his attention to detail and doing things the “right” way. He carefully oversees the construction of each project to ensure homeowners get an end product they will be able to enjoy for years to come.
Ross West – Intern Cascadian
is a second year Master in Landscape Architecture student at the University of Florida, where he spends many long nights in the studio collaborating with fellow designer students to create memorable spaces. Before Landscape Architecture, he acquired a B.A. in Environmental Science and Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University. Ross is a member of the student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and active participant in Gainesville area community-building design projects.
As an intern, gaining applicable experience from a well-rounded design firm is Ross’ number one goal. His proficiency in the studio is translated to Cascade Outdoor Design where his passion for process drives thoughtful approaches to Place Making in the natural and built environments. Ross’ studies, paired with his construction background, have contributed to his appreciation for the wholesomeness of design – from concept to creation and beyond.
